1L Diversity Scholars Program

Diversity logo

The Diversity Scholars Program is a skills training and career coaching program, striving to help train practice-ready diverse attorneys. The first-year law students who are accepted into the Program attend a number of conferences and training seminars to learn both substantive and soft skills and competencies required of attorneys in their early years of practice. The Program also provides admitted students with 6-month career coaching to help them navigate law school, interviews, networking, and long-term career planning.

The Diversity Scholar Program includes:

  • Free admission to attend the Houston Career Conference and Diversity Reception (Spring 2017)
  • Free 6-month career and OCI coaching
  • Complimentary Interviewing and Resume Writing Workshops
  • Free admission to attend any Fall New Attorney Basics Conference (any time before December 2019)
  • Complimentary unlimited mentorship from PracticePro coaches and Diversity Program Advisory Board

We are no longer accepting applications for the 2016-17 cycle.  The 2017-18 cycle to select the Class of 2020 Diversity Scholars will begin on November 1, 2017.
