Law School Tutors (Fall 2023)

PracticePro is hiring talented rising 2Ls (Class of 2025) and 3Ls (Class of 2024) as tutors for Law School Mastery®, an immersive law school prep and career coaching program that equips incoming 1Ls with the skills they need to excel in their first year of law school and achieve their long-term academic and professional goals.

Each Law School Mastery® tutor is assigned to one or more students. Tutoring focuses on mentorship, including developing study skills and law school strategies for academic success, rather than reviewing substantive material. Tutors meet with students regularly throughout their first semester and remain available by email or text to answer questions between meetings. The goal of tutoring is to identify where students are struggling and develop solutions tailored to the students’ needs.

The Law School Mastery® program and tutoring positions will run from September 2023 through January 2024.

Tutors are paid $30/hour.

Responsibilities

  • Meet virtually with students in one-hour sessions twice monthly
  • Respond to questions and provide guidance to students for up to two additional hours each month
  • Identify problems students face and develop strategies to help them succeed
  • Communicate strategies effectively to ensure student understanding

Qualifications

  • Current 2L (Class of 2025) or 3L (Class of 2024)
  • Excellent academic credentials (preferred: 3.5+ GPA or Hs in most courses)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Tutoring/mentoring experience preferred

Interested applicants should submit their resume, transcript, and a short statement of interest, and can direct any questions, to joseph@practicepro.cc and meenu@practicepro.cc. We will be accepting applications until Friday, September 1.
