Pre-Law Diversity Scholarship

 

PracticePro is excited to grant a number of Pre-Law Diversity Scholarships in 2023! Financial barriers and a lack of guidance often prevent underrepresented students from attending law school. The PracticePro Pre-Law Diversity Scholarship provides students with the resources to navigate the law school admissions process and prepare for fulfilling legal careers.

Through the Pre-Law Diversity Scholarship, PracticePro aims to cultivate diverse talent at the earliest stage by helping underrepresented pre-law students secure acceptances to top law schools and prepare for legal recruiting and practice.


SCHOLARSHIP COMPONENTS

(The scholarship components are collectively valued at $8,700.)

 

LSAT Stipend

  • PracticePro will reimburse the costs of an LSAT prep course and LSAT exam up to $1,200.

Application Fee Reimbursement

  • We will reimburse up to $500 in law school application fees.

Admissions Coaching

  • Application strategy
  • Personal statement idea generation and review
  • Legal resume drafting
  • Interview preparation
  • Scholarship negotiation
  • Tools to answer character and fitness questions effectively

Career Coaching

  • Introduction to the legal industry and recruiting
  • How to choose law school extracurricular activities
  • Previews of different legal practice areas
  • Preparing for first-year summer legal internship opportunities

Mentorship from Sponsor Firm/Company

  • Support from top attorneys during the law school application process
  • Introduction to different legal practice areas

 

ELIGIBILITY

 

Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Junior or Senior in college or graduated college in the last two years 
  • Applying for admission to law school in Fall 2023 (Class of 2027) or Fall 2024 (Class of 2028)
  • Minimum 3.2 undergraduate GPA
  • Member of a racial, ethnic, gender, or socioeconomic group which has been historically underrepresented in the legal profession, a member of the LGBTQ+ community, or those with a disability

 

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

 

Please submit:

1. Pre-Law Diversity Scholarship Application Form

2. Resume 

3. Undergraduate transcript

4. 350-word personal statement answering the following question: “How has diversity and inclusion affected your life’s journey and decision to become a lawyer?”

5. (Optional but Recommended) 2-minute video introducing yourself and why the PracticePro Pre-Law Scholarship will help you achieve your goal of becoming an attorney

 

Submission Instructions:

  • Please email the application materials above to scholarships@practicepro.cc, email subject line “Pre-Law Diversity Scholarship – [your name]”.
  • You must submit one PDF, containing items #2-4, titled “Full Name_Pre-Law Diversity Scholarship”, e.g., Bailey Robinson_Pre-Law Diversity Scholarship. You can either include a link to your video (#5) in the PDF file or attach it as a separate file in your transmission email.
  • Unofficial copies of transcripts are sufficient. Please ensure that you include a transcript/grades for any credits that transferred to your undergraduate institution.
  • For #5, smartphone recordings are acceptable. Please ensure that you have not restricted the accessibility or permission to view your video before sending it to us.
